The Mercersburg community is wonderfully diverse. Students, faculty, and alumni represent the global world in which we live. The student body is made up of students from more than 20 countries. Will Willis, director of international programs, works closely with our students to help them make the transition to Mercersburg by concentrating on academic preparation and social adjustment. In addition, there is the optional English language intensive during the summer, which focuses on acculturation for international student prior to the start of his or her first year at Mercersburg. 

As of the 2003–2004 academic year, Mercersburg no longer offers ESL within the academic program. Students whose primary language is not English will find language support through the international-student coordinator and the Writing Center. Students can choose or are often required to attend the Mercersburg Summer Intensive English Language Program prior to arrival.
